The Bicycle Classic in Upper Austria

The Radklassik cherry blossom was born from the idea of giving the steel racing bike, which had its best times until the end of the 20th century, its own event in Upper Austria as well.

For almost a century, steel was the only and leading material for racing bikes. Shortly before the turn of the millennium, however, steel faced competition from aluminium and carbon.

The resulting changes meant that steel racing bikes disappeared completely from cycling and the peletons. Only a few producers are still engaged in the production of high-quality steel frames today.

Many of these masterpieces of craftsmanship, special features, eye candy and youthful dreams disappeared into cellars, storerooms and garages and are now to return to the streets.

The town of Eferding, the Eferding basin, the Scharten region and the fruit hill country offer the perfect environment to spend an unforgettable day on these beautiful racing bikes made of steel and chrome.

A day in which sport, enjoyment and friendship with the technical equipment of the road bike are at the forefront.
